Outdoor burning is restricted while the ban remains in effect.

GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A burn ban is in effect in Galveston County due to what officials describe as drought conditions in the area.
On Monday, county officials announced that commissioners had approved the ban restricting outdoor burning.
"Drought conditions exist in Galveston County and residents are encouraged to take all necessary steps to prevent wildfires," county officials wrote in a social media post.
Residents were told not to burn trash, brush, vegetation, debris, or conduct other outdoor burning while the ban remains in effect and to use extra caution with anything that could create a spark or ignite dry vegetation.
